Inauguration of the UNESCO Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights

AUP celebrated the inauguration of the UNESCO Co-Chairs for Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, professors Roda and Perry, in the presence of AUP President Sonya Stephens, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education Stefania Giannini and Deputy U.S. Permanent Representative to UNESCO Jean Elizabeth Manes, who all spoke to the incredible accomplishment that this honor represents. Opening remarks by the dignitaries were followed by an exciting discussion on human rights and artificial intelligence featuring AUP alumni Boriša Falatar ’99 (Policy Director, EU Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA)), Nicole Santiago, Esq. ‘19 (Human Rights and Emerging Technology Research Manager, Trilateral Research LTD, Amelia Urwin ‘22 (Advisor to UNESCO’s Chief Information Technology Officer). The conversation was moderated by Ms. Inga Nichanian (Senior Program Assistant, Future of Learning and Innovation Division, UNESCO).
