The Chair advances UNESCO&#8217;s role as a catalyst for innovative thinking by fostering cutting-edge research and impactful educational initiatives, notably through The American University of Paris\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.aup.edu\/academics\/programs\/msc-human-rights-and-data-science\">Master\u2019s degree in Human Rights and Data Science<\/a>, while actively participating in UNESCO&#8217;s broader programmatic activities and events.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The chair holders, Professors Claudia RODA and Susan PERRY, are supported by a multidisciplinary team of experts and scholars, comprising:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Constance P\u00e2ris De Bollardi\u00e8re  &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aup.edu\/academics\/research-centers\/center-for-study-genocide-human-rights-conflict-prevention\">Schaeffer Center for the Study of Genocide, Human Rights and Conflict Prevention<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jeff Gima &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amicalnet.org\">Amical consortium<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Marco Pascucci &#8211; Professor of Computer Science, The American University of Paris<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brian Schiff &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aup.edu\/academics\/research-centers\/center-for-study-genocide-human-rights-conflict-prevention\">Schaeffer Center for the Study of Genocide, Human Rights and Conflict Prevention<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>List to be completed soon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-primary-color has-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-4a36683af30dc1b763dd2b37a6e0d24c\"><a href=\"https:\/\/my.aup.edu\/profile\/sperry\"><strong>Susan Perry<\/strong><\/a> is a specialist in international human rights law and digital technology. She teaches law and politics at The American University of Paris, where she directs several of the university\u2019s graduate programs and the Summer Institute for Human Rights. Susan is a member of the French National Human Rights Commission (CNCDH) and serves as Vice President for the sub-commission on International Humanitarian Law. Both a scholar and activist, Susan\u2019s work focuses on vulnerable populations .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:40px\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-primary-color has-light-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-019655a8c30f8abfcfbcc7a00ff2f02a\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ac.aup.edu\/~croda\/\"><strong>Claudia Roda<\/strong><\/a> is professor of Computer Science, <a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.aup.edu\/academics\/programs\/msc-human-rights-and-data-science\">director of the master\u2019s program in Human Rights and Data Science<\/a>, and former Dean at the American University of Paris. She is a member of the Research Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and serves on the European Commission\u2019s expert group for the definition of the first General-Purpose AI Code of Practice. Claudia&#8217;s work has been generously sponsored by several organizations and is widely published. .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-d1c5baf651428faf2aa59b77faf62b43\"><strong>Supporting UNESCO\u2019s actions to implement the Recommendation on Ethics of Al, and the advancement of other instruments on the ethics of science and technology.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In support of UNESCO\u2019s path-breaking Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (2022), The Chair on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights promotes an interdisciplinary approach to analyzing and applying UNESCO\u2019s principles for the ethical use of AI.
